# Billing & subscriptions

> Plans, credits, and how usage is metered.

Zeptar workspaces start on the **Free** plan with 10,000 credits per month. Higher tiers ship more credits, more concurrent calls, more seats, and (on Scale and Business) usage-based overage billing.

## What counts as a credit?

`credits = ceil(conversation_seconds × 10)`. A 60-second conversation costs 600 credits.

## Hitting your cap

* **Free and Starter:** when your monthly credits run out, new conversations are rejected until your next reset.
* **Scale and Business:** every credit past your included pool is reported to Stripe and billed on your next invoice at the per-credit price above.

## Upgrading

* On Free? **Settings → Subscription → Select \<Plan>** opens Stripe Checkout.
* On a paid plan? **Settings → Subscription → Switch to \<Plan>** opens the Stripe Customer Portal pre-targeted at the new price.

## Cancelling

Use the **Manage subscription** button on the Subscription page. Cancelling at the end of the current period reverts you to Free.
